there has been an ongoing argument at our house concerning the meaning of the word irony.
a common battlefeild in the irony war, has been the song "ironic" by alanis morisette.
i think that she is quite misinformed.
that she should change the title and lyrics to "tragic".
its not ironic that the old guy wins the lottery and then dies the next day, its just a bummer. tragic, not ironic.
or is it?
we have checked the dictionary a hundred times, and have used an equal number of analogies, but i am still not certain that we have the slightest hint of a cool as to what ironic actually means.
i have had numerous conversations, one happening right now on instant messenger, about the supposed meaning of this word, but yet nothing.
so now, all i want to know is:
is it ironic that i dont know what irony means?
