well, i have been going through what some would call a "dry season" spiritually. after reading some classic c.s.lewis i have come to these conclusions.
1. dry seasons are a part of life
as humans we are constantly changing. life is nothing but peaks and troughs not just spiritually but in every aspect as well. who knows how many dry seasons i have been in concerning my art of any of my other hobbies. its just life.
2. God prefers us in the dry seasons.
who can resist or disobey God when in his presence? if we were on mountains all time we would never be tempted to sin. that in essence would be removing our freedom of choice. God delights in nothing more than one of his servants living for him even when there is no presence of him. it is in the dry times that we are molded into his character, and formed into dependent beings.
as the old addage goes "out of sight, out of mind" unless of course its true love.
God desires true love from us, so he removes himself from us
it is illogical in a sense, but hey, so is love
