i think that it is apparent that i am now just a typical artsy liberal bastard.
it all started out with a pair of dark frame glasses and a love for cardigans and jazz.
but now,
now i consider the green party as at least a thought-worthy choice.
i have more than one friend who is vegan.
mention sartre and nietzsche in casual conversation.
eat sushi
prefer documentaries to narrative film, pbs to entertaining televison, npr to rock.
next week i will co-host the first of a series of multi-cultural dinner parties. this one will celebrate the birth of buddha and will consists of traditional foods and rituals.
i am seriously only a volvo, pony tail and collection of world music away from being a complete yuppy.
which is why tonight i am going to find me a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and saunter over to some non-ironic dive bar.
there i will drink domestic beer (though it will still probably be a micro brew) and listen to people talk about sports.
i will reconnect with the people.
just as long as the pretzels are organic. because seriously that does make a difference.
